What has changed in the critical US-Israel relationship since Oct. 7? What internal differences exist within America regarding Israel? What are the key tension points vis-à-vis the Gaza war and the “day after” between the Biden administration and the Netanyahu coalition? Despite the failures of the past, can the Americans broker peace between Israelis and Palestinians? How does the upcoming US election campaign factor in, and what might be the consequences of a Trump win?

Our highly accomplished speaker, Eric Alterman, will unpack these issues and more on February 18. Alterman is eminently well-qualified to discuss the US-Israel relationship, having recently published a comprehensive book on the subject entitled: We Are Not One: The History of America’s Fight Over Israel. He is an award-winning writer of 11 other books, a journalist with a wide body of acclaimed work to his name and a CUNY Distinguished Professor of English and Journalism at Brooklyn College.
